How Everytown is making a difference
Everytown is working to close loopholes in gun sale laws and implement a complete background check database so that there is an accurate criminal background check performed after every sale of a gun.
Everytown is pushing Congress and state legislatures to close the loopholes that make it easy for domestic abusers to get guns without a background check—common-sense changes that the gun lobby refuses to support. They’re also working to prohibit stalkers from buying guns—and to make sure that convicted abusers don’t get to keep the guns they already own.
We need to start an honest conversation about what responsible gun ownership means, and we should develop technology and laws that make safe storage the norm. We can protect our kids while respecting the rights of lawful—and responsible—gun owners.
Everytown is fighting for a strong federal trafficking law to crack down on illegal gun trafficking networks.
