  • AJWS works in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and the USA to end poverty and the root causes of it in the world’s poorest areas.

  • Passage of policy in multiple countries to systemically impact the areas that need the most attention. For example, supporting the passage of laws to end rape and violence in India.

  • 100% of ALWS’s staff and consultants in the countries of their programs support and coach grantees to ensure strength in their work and build capacity.

  • AJWS partners with local organizations to ensure the voices of the people they are helping are heard and solutions that fit the community are made.

  • AJWS conducts original research and external evaluations to ensure impact is being made and better understand the key issues. This information is shared with AJWS’s grantees so it can be used to better apply strategies for change

By educating and empowering young women, AJWS’s comprehensive strategy to end childhood marriage presents girls and their families with alternatives to an early marriage.

Disaster Response

As communities are left without access to critical systems in the wake of natural disasters, AJMS mobilizes partners and funding to support communities after natural disasters and epidemics.
